Privacy Policy

Resource Radar is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app and this website do and do not collect.

The short version

  • We do not collect your name, files, browsing activity, or the contents of anything you do on your computer.
  • The app sends an anonymous daily “heartbeat” so we can estimate active anonymous users.
  • Diagnostic reports are sent only when you explicitly choose to send one, and are stripped of credentials, tokens, file contents, raw paths, and raw device/account identifiers.
  • If you add a support message or reply email to a diagnostics report, that text is used only for support.
  • Your Claude and Codex tokens are never sent to Resource Radar’s servers.

1. Anonymous usage heartbeat

At most once every 24 hours, the application sends a minimal “heartbeat” to our servers so we can estimate active anonymous users. The heartbeat contains only these desktop-sent fields:

  • schemaVersion
  • appName
  • anonymousUserId
  • userIdentityCreatedAtUtc
  • appVersion
  • buildNumber
  • distribution (currently stable)
  • os
  • osVersion
  • createdAtUtc

The anonymousUserId is a random UUID created by the app. It is not hardware-derived, is stored locally under your Windows profile, and is not removed by Resource Radar Settings reset.

Country is not sent by the desktop app. The Worker derives a validated country code from Cloudflare request metadata and stores it only on daily user activity objects.

It contains no name, email, hardware identifier, file content, or activity details.

2. Diagnostics (opt-in only)

A diagnostics report is sent only when you explicitly choose to send one from within the app. Before sending, values are reduced to safe categories and ranges (for example, “64-bit”, “elevated”, “healthy”), and raw device/account identifiers are removed. Diagnostics never include credentials, tokens, or file contents, and each report documents this in its own redaction summary. If you add a message or reply email to a report, that information is provided by you, solely so we can respond to you.

The diagnostics request contains only these desktop-sent fields: schemaVersion, appName, anonymousUserId, appVersion, buildNumber, distribution, createdAtUtc, diagnosticsText, userMessage, and replyEmail.

3. Your AI credentials are not sent to us

To display Claude and Codex usage, Resource Radar uses provider sign-in already present on your PC: Claude usage is read with your local Claude credentials, and Codex quota is read through the local Codex app-server rate-limits path. Your tokens and account credentials are never transmitted to Resource Radar’s servers.

4. Local app behavior

Resource Radar is a desktop hardware monitor, so security tools can see expected local behavior: Windows performance APIs, WMI, native desktop APIs, local settings files, optional Start with Windows registration, and local Claude/Codex helper processes. These behaviors support visible features. The app does not install drivers or services, does not inject into other processes, and does not collect API keys from environment variables.

Reading CPU temperature can require a kernel driver that Resource Radar never installs. If CPU temperature shows no value on your machine, you can optionally install the open-source PawnIO driver yourself; it can enable the CPU temperature sensor. PawnIO is an independent open-source project — use at your own risk. Restart Resource Radar after installing it.

5. This website

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (page views) and how many people start a download. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization. We do not use advertising signals, marketing pixels, cross-site tracking, or user-identifying analytics. We record a non-personal “download” event when a download button is clicked, with the file name, app version, and which button was used.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. The only third-party services involved in Resource Radar services are our hosting, diagnostics, and heartbeat infrastructure and Google Analytics (website only). Claude and Codex quota checks use the corresponding provider sign-in paths under your own provider account.

7. Data retention

Anonymous user and daily activity records, plus aggregate website analytics, are retained only as long as needed to understand active usage and trends. Diagnostic reports you choose to send are retained only as long as needed to resolve the issue you reported.

8. Children

Resource Radar is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
